Hello: I have been using Navicat to administer my Oracle/Sun based MySQL servers for years. (www.navicat.com) Now I am switched over to MariaDB 2.8 using ARIA engine. What do MariaDB users recommend of good GUI front end that allows me to manage ARIA Create Table Transactional=0|1 Row_format=PAGE setting. Most Tools do not support all of the MariaDB settings in the table setup dialogs. Suggestions appreciated... md

I have an issue where a fast triggering event, running every 30 seconds, is occasionally running multiple times without each finishing. This is causing duplicate data as things are marked done one at a time. I am trying to figure a solution such that this event can only run singly, but what is the best way? DISABLE at start and ENABLE at end? Do SESSION variables work between event invocations?

Hi I have been struggling to get mariadb to work. My problems have been either the server is very erratic, usually will not start it. After trying a complete reinstall I can not install the mariadb-server-5.2 package either from the repository or from a deb. I am using Ubuntu/Pinguy 11.04. The installation results from apt-get or aptitude are sudo aptitude install mariadb-server-5.2 The following NEW packages will be installed: mariadb-server-5.2 0 packages upgraded, 1 newly installed, 0 to remove and 21 not upgraded. Need to get 13.6 MB of archives. After unpacking 30.8 MB will be used. Hi, I have installed MariaDB 5.3 from the apt packages on a lenny amd64 machine. Initial setup went fine and the database is working correctly. When I give some load to the machine I get crashes about every 8 minutes. I recently installed MariaDB 5.2.7 Win-x64 to a machine from http://downloads.askmonty.org/mariadb/. When I did 'SELECT @@aria_used_for_temp_tables;', it returned 0. I know this a compile time option and was wondering if this was intended. Several references I've found point that it is meant to be enabled by default. Thanks

I have gone over every document concerning building mariadb using src rpm. I am trying to build mariadb against RHEL 6. I have run rpmbuild against the src rpm and I get this error everytime: error: configure: error: C compiler cannot create executables The instructions, I have to admit, are not very good about building using the source rpm. If there is anyone who has a better howto, I would really appreciate it. Thanks! Brent
