Running Galera 25.3.9-1 / MariaDB 10.1.6-1. Using the Mysqld_multi init.d script to start and stop multiple mysql instances through service or systemd commands I have found that the starting works just fine but stopping them doesn't. It will stop all the instances but the last one. Just for clarification cmd is : service mysqld_multi stop or systemctl stop mysqld_multi. I tried this with 2 and 3 mysql instances. With 2 instances, #1 would stop but #2 wouldn't. With 3 instances #1 & #2 would stop and #3 wouldn't. I have verified that the mysqladmin command works to shut the DB down with the multi_admin account I use. Now running mysqld_multi directly works just fine. Whether it's one specific instance or all of them. That is running the script directly /etc/init.d/mysqd_multi or the actual /usr/bin/mysqld_multi command directly. Both work as expected. I honestly don't know if this is a script problem or a systemd problem. I do know that in SLES 12, SUSE rewrote the mysql init.d script to include mysqld_multi if multiple instances were discovered in the my.cnf file. And this work great using systemd. I've just downloaded and started using the C/C++ connector library (v.2.1.0), libmariadb.dll. I had simply dropped it in as a direct replacement for the MySQL C connector library (v.6.1.6 x64), libmysql.dll. While it works as expected, there is an unduly long lapse during mysql_real_connect(), lasting for about fifteen seconds, before the connection is established. With libmysql.dll, the connection is almost immediate. Might there be any additional setting that I may have missed to prevent this lapse? There is Async replication configured between two galera clusters. To begin with I have been trying this out on two datacenters dc1 and dc2. dc1 has two node galera cluster -- node1_dc1 , node2_dc1 dc2 has one node - just one primary galera node . node1_dc2 I have configured async replication between node1_dc1 and node1_dc2. But I am facing strange problem here. I could see replication happening nicely on all the three nodes involved. But When i tried to restart node2_dc1 ,(the secondary node from dc1's galera cluster) - i am not able to login to this node's mysql with root user. Or any user for that matter. Upon investigation using skip grant, found that the mysql.user table is emptied. (You can refer to the attached logs of node2_dc1 where I have highlighted removal messages in log). My doubts/concerns - 1) I am not sure what could have triggered this mysql table's removal in first place. 2) Inspite of this - I could get this node join the cluster. Having trouble getting the bootstrap to work. I can get the db to run but it won't connect to the galera provider. Not only that but i have to run /etc/init.d/mysql start --wsrep-new-cluster to get the script to accept the parameter. If I use service or systemctl they both return invalid parameter or option. Another thing is when I do run /etc/init.d/mysql it will start but systemctl status mysql won't know about it. Mater DB->Secondary DB--> Interim DB Master DB: Table DailyMetrics ( a char,b char Secondary DB: Table DailyMetrics ( a char,b char Interim DB: Table DailyMetrics ( a char,b char, InsertTime timestamp default current_timestamp) Replication is working fine but added column InsertTime on interim DB is storing 000.000.00 00-00-00 value. It is not storing current system timestamp. When I issue separate insert statement on slave side, it is storing system time but nor with replication. Can anyone suggest me how to achieve system timestamp on slave side. Other details as follows: MySQl DB: MariaDB 5.5.23 Replication Type: Row based. hi guys, i'm with some doibts... I'm trying to replicate a double linked list, my information is: 1) insert at position xxx (and move others to next position) 2) update position yyyy 3) change position zzz with www 4) delete position xxxx to vvvv 5) return all positions 6) return positions with value > zzz My doubt is... I have only one writer and many many readers, writer can't be blocked for more than 1-3 seconds Some times i need to read history (functions 1 to 6) and recreate the linked list at a point in time List is something like: Position - json structure (arraylist in c#) like 0-[0,1,2,4,5] 1-[2.3,4,8,0] It update very fast, minimal update interval is 0.001second (max of 1000updates per second) for each list I will have 100-2000 lists --- Doubts : 1) Whats the best method to create the current double linked list? (The list positioned at last operatiom) A memory table? A row level lock table? A cache solution (memcached) with only one key-value and value with the full list? 2) considering a table: 2.1)what the best method to change position? Update set position=if() where position in (xxx, yyy) In this case what should be the primary key? If i use positionas primary key in this update i cam have non unique values... 2.2) ehat to do with delete/inserts? Insert+update positions?
