[Maria-discuss] Name for Native MariaDB Client Library RPM

Hi guys, I'd like to package the native MariaDB client library as an RPM for Fedora. But I got into troubles when discussing the name of the RPM. In Fedora we have some rules about packages names and there are some other facts that need to be taken into account. These are restrictions I face: * not to use underscope unless absolutely necessary * follow upstream's name as much as possible (tarball is called mariadb_client-2.0.0-src.tar.gz) * we already have mariadb-libs and there might be mariadb-client packages in the future, if we start follow upstream naming for subpackages, so we cannot use mariadb-libs or mariadb-client Having these restrictions on my mind and seeing mariadb-native-client as a name for Windows installers, I think this would be also the best name for Fedora. In practice the packages will include these files: mariadb-native-client-2.0.0-1.fc20.x86_64.rpm /usr/lib64/mariadb/libmariadb.so.2 LICENSE, README, ... mariadb-native-client-devel-2.0.0-1.fc20.x86_64.rpm /usr/bin/mariadb_config /usr/include/mariadb/* /usr/lib64/mariadb/libmariadb.so /usr/lib64/mariadb/libmysql.so /usr/lib64/mariadb/libmysqlclient.so /usr/lib64/mariadb/libmysqlclient_r.so By this mail I'd like to check if you, MariaDB upstream, will be OK with that (no response means confirmation). Hello, A new question has been asked in "CONNECT" by danielkrysiak: -------------------------------- Hi, I have data in CSV files. Partitioned inside a directory, one file per day, alive (constantly written to, insert at the end). I want to load them on-line (not once a day). Normally I would write peace of code, that remembers the last file and place, so it can easily go back and continue. But the Connect engine looks like a great ready solution for this kind of thing. I'm just not sure about: 1. I can't use indexes, because the file is changed all the time. Can I somehow make sure the data will be visible in a "connect table" always in the same order? 2. About "Multiple File Tables". Whats the order of data inside them? 3. What about simple file format change: add column at the end. Hello, A new question has been asked in "TokuDB" by johnzobolas: -------------------------------- Hi! I downloaded mariadb-10.0.10-linux-x86_64.tar.gz from your website to install and test MariaDB 10.0.10 and specifically the engine TokuDB (and Connect). My questions are: 1)My server's OS is: Ubuntu 12.04.1 LTS (GNU/Linux 3.2.0-29-generic x86_64). Is this supported for TokuDB engine or not? (after i installed mariaDB, there was no plugin for TokuDB (ha_tokudb.so?) in the plugins folder...) 2)Also with connect engine: there was indeed a file called ha_connect.so in the plugins folder and i used: install soname 'ha_connect'; and got: ERROR 1126 (HY000): Can't open shared library '/usr/local/mysql/lib/plugin/ha_connect.so' (errno: 2, libodbc.so.1: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory). What is wrong here? (With the engines spider and sequence the above command is successfull and they were installed!).
