However, I was unable to find any mention of maximum table sizes for tables in various row formats. Upon creating tables and getting information in SequelPro, I saw the following: Aria Dynamic: 4GB Aria Fixed: 20GB Aria Page: 64GB This would seem counterproductive as MyISAM supports 256TB. The MariaDB project is pleased to announce the immediate availability of MariaDB 10.0.0. This is an alpha release. MariaDB 10.0 is the development version of MariaDB. It is built on the MariaDB 5.5 series with backported features from MySQL 5.6 and entirely new features not found anywhere else. This is the first 10.0-based release, and we are releasing it now to get it into the hands of any who might want to test it. Not all features planned for the MariaDB 10.0 series are included in this release. Additional features will be pushed in future releases. Hi, Now Iam trying to migrate from MySQL to MariaDB. Why does the TRUNCATE TABLE statement hang sometimes? What are the reasons for this type of issue? This problem doesn't happen with MySQL, only with MariaDB. The hanging statement is simply: TRUNCATE TABLE sampledb.datatable; What can cause this to happen, and how could I fix it? Another one observation is if the table have some data, may be one or two rows, then the truncate query works successfully. Else the table have a lot of data, query becomes hang. If the same table have more than one connetion, then the truncate table query hangs. How I fix it??? Now Iam blocking. Engine I selected is MyISAM. [Maria-discuss] can I expect deb files of mariadb-galera soon?

Hi, We are currently using mariadb a lot over here with traditional replication and I'd like to test the galera alpha in the next weeks. I have two brand-new machines with plenty of SAS disks, some SSDs and 128GB of RAM over here with Ubuntu 12.10 alpha ready to do some testing with our real-world workloads. Before I start compiling myself or mess with binary tar.gz-releases: can I expect deb-releases within the next 2 weeks? That would make life much easier for me and I'd delay starting all the testing by a few days if I knew I would then have debs to start right away. regards Jan

I am using MySQL at present. I came across MariaDB, a drop-in replacement for MySQL. 2 simple questions-- 1) File names in MariaDB, in many cases, are same as those in MySQL. Wouldn't that attract objection from Oracle as 'breach of the copyright' ? 2) May I use MariaDB for commercial distribution (with or without using its source) ?
