All, I got a replciation problem and planned to take master server dump using below command and tried to restore in slave server: mysqldump --skip-lock-tables --single-transaction --flush-logs --hex-blob --master-data=1 -A --routines > ~/dump.sql I got into this error: https://jira.mariadb.org/browse/MDEV-10119 Then I tried this method: http://lists.askmonty.org/pipermail/commits/2016-June/009504.html My question: Is it ok if the GIS procedure currently with definer as definer=`root@localhost` instead of blank as definer=`` for the following two procs in mysql: Slave_MariaDB [(none)]> select db, name, definer from mysql.proc; +---------+------------------------+-----------------+ | db | name | definer | +---------+------------------------+-----------------+ | mysql | AddGeometryColumn | root@localhost | | mysql | DropGeometryColumn | root@localhost | Master_MariaDB [(none)]> select db, name, definer from mysql.proc; +---------+------------------------+-----------------+ | db | name | definer | +---------+------------------------+-----------------+ | mysql | AddGeometryColumn | @ | | mysql | DropGeometryColumn | @ |

HI All, Even after enabling --local-infile=1 at mysql user login, I couldn't load the file locally. mysql -u root --local-infile=1 LOAD DATA LOCAL INFILE ERROR 1148 (42000): The used command is not allowed with this MariaDB version show variables like '%local%'; +---------------+-------+ | Variable_name | Value | +---------------+-------+ | local_infile | OFF | +---------------+-------+ Even though i enable --local-infile=1, the local-infile still shows OFF. Pleaselet know how can I fix this.

[Maria-discuss] ROLE and DEFAULT DATABASE

Hi, Can anyone assist me on this below: I have a database called appdb. I need to grant access to this db to different users say: api_user, app_user, portal_user. So I created a ROLE as APP_ROLE and GRANT as below: GRANT SELECT, INSERT, UPDATE, DELETE ON APPDB.* TO APP_ROLE; Later I assign the Role to user: GRANT APP_ROLE TO API_USER@'%' IDENTIFIED BY 'YOU'; SET DEFAULT ROLE APP_ROLE TO API_USER@'%'; But the problem now is: Application team want to choose the database when they establish connection. But they couldn't use APPDB. So they couldn't see any db objects listed in APPDB. Is there a way we can assign a default database also for user.

What is the purpose/effect of having MariaDB's default_tmp_storage_engine setting default to NULL instead of the default used in MySQL, Innodb? I can't see any obvious differences in behaviour.

Well, I can't think many cases where InnoDB is not the default engine. But, if it is not, why should you use it for temporary tables? If you mainly use TokuDB, maybe don't want to mix the engines. If you use MyISAM, maybe you don't want transactional temporary tables. Hi Ian I beleive that there is a difference if default_storage_engine != innodb, because in that case, default_tmp_storage_engine will not be InnoDB. Hello everybody, I made a (form my POV) bigger change to how MariaDB is packed, and I would be grateful for any feedback. I separated all the non-essential utilities to a standalone sub-package "server-utils". It should be installed automaticly with the "server" package as a weak dendency, so regular user should not spot any change. For example, if you don't need Perl with your server, you can save about 20MB of the space with this update.
