Hello, A new question has been asked in "MariaDB Community" by bits45. Please answer it at http://mariadb.com/kb/en/cannot-change-socket-location-in-10021/ as the person asking the question may not be subscribed to the mailing list. -------------------------------- I'm trying to change the socket file location to anything other than /var/lib/mysql on Red Hat 6.6 x64. Using the socket variable in server.cnf or even in my.cnf does not appear to honor the varable. I've tried placing the variable setting in various locations in the server.cnf file, but nothing seems to work. The socket file is always created in /var/lib/mysql, or the database has problems starting up. Where else do I search for this? Could it have been compiled in by accident? If I try this with MySQL 5.6 Community version it works without issue - I placed the variable in /etc/my.cnf file under [mysqld] Again, I'm using the non enterprise version of MariaDB 10.0.21 with RHEL 6.6. Hey guys, I trying to get up running a galera cluster with IPv6 But right know, it's not working. I'm trying to join the cluster with node 2 and the rsync sst isn't listening on IPv6. Hi guys, I have a program wrote in c#, it process some code and the result is a struct (an array of string/double/int) I want to include this program inside mariadb server as a daemon plugin (to process data) + a storage engine (to read struct data) is that possible? considering that i can write dll with .net? what about write this to linux (.so files) ? any help is very very very welcome -- Roberto Spadim

Both using the BUILD/compile_solaris_spac, cmake . -DBUILD_CONFIG=mysql_release and just going through regular config script. Compiling in 32bit wasn't an issue, but I need a 64bit installation. I've set all of my flags to inclued -m64: # env | grep FLAGS CPPFLAGS=-m64 CMAKE_C_FLAGS=-m64 CXXFLAGS=-m64 CMAKE_CXX_FLAGS=-m64 CFLAGS=-m64 And my library path is correct - as far as I can tell. # echo $LD_LIBRARY_PATH /usr/lib/sparcv9:/usr/sfw/lib/sparcv9:/lib/sparcv9:/lib:/usr/lib So far I've had to manually change all of the link.txt files to add the -m64 switch. All OpenSSL 1.0.x releases are binary compatible (https://www.openssl.org/docs/faq.html#MISC8) In addition my RH release ships with OpenSSL 1.0.1 and there should be no reason I need to maintain 2 versions of OpenSSL. [Maria-discuss] Can someone explain odd InnoDB locking behavior

Hi I'm trying to understand why InnoDB locks two next-key intervals higher than needed. If you try to run conn-a.sql from one connection, and then run conn-b.sql from other connection, conn-b.sql would be locked. I have a feeling that it locks two next-key intervals: (5 to 7 and 7 to positive infinity). Because I can insert values higher than 7 in conn-b only if condition is WHERE n <= 4 (or lower than 4). TokuDB locks just one next-key interval (with WHERE n <= 7, TokuDB locks from -infinity to +infinity, but with condition WHERE n <= 6, it locks from -infinity to 6). Please help me to understand why ever both engines need to lock gap after the upper end of range scan. And why InnoDB needs to lock even two next-key gaps. I am trying to get some software installed but am running into problems. I have created a database and user for that database, but when I run the software it cannot connect to the database. The user I created was on the database sam I used the command MySQL -u sam -p'sam's password' sam's database I get access denied for user 'sam'@'localhost' I used the command "grant all privileges on newdb.* to sam@localhost;" I also did a "grant usage on *.* to sam@localhost identified by 'sams password'; Is there something I am doing wrong? Is there something I am missing? Your help is appreciated.
