Hello, A new question has been asked in "MariaDB Connector/C" by jimbrownsmart. Please answer it at http://mariadb.com/kb/en/using-mariadb-on-linux-from-c-odbc/ as the person asking the question may not be subscribed to the mailing list. -------------------------------- Is the connector what I need to use ODBC from C++ on opensuse 13? It would be great if you could point me to a document that says how to get mariadb set up so I can contact it with ODBC from C++ I extacted mariadb-connector-c-2.2.1-linux-x86_64 but I don't know what to do next. mariadb_config has a bunch of options.but I can't find any documentation. [Maria-discuss] Replication to galera cluster

Hi, I've tried to setup replication from production MariaDB (lets name proddb) to a data warehouse on Galera cluster (dw1, dw2 and dwarbitrator - last is a node with garb). Made master-slave link between proddb and dw1. And on dw1 I have actual data, but they are not updated on dw2. Other schemas successfully transfer their updates between dw1 and dw2 as required. Looks like only difference that other schemas are updated with direct requests to dw1 and dw2, and replicated schema is updated only through replication. Does anyone have experience with a similar configuration? Igor

It was working properly in MariaDB 5.1. I have upgraded to 10.1.8, and it appears that the query return is being truncated at 1024 characters. I see this behaviour in three separate tools, including php mysql calls, phpMyAdmin, and the mysql command line tool. (It was the mysql CLI, piped to wc, that told me that exactly 1024 characters were being sent, but no more.) Assuming this is not a bug, but rather some variable to be tweaked, can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks in advance! BTW: Here is the query, which has not changed since it was written in 5.1: <pre>SELECT GROUP_CONCAT(DISTINCT '<a href="/wiki/', p.family, '" title="', f.explanation, '">', p.family, '</a>' ORDER BY p.family SEPARATOR ', ') FROM s_plants p LEFT JOIN s_plant_families f ON p.family = f.family</pre> This query basically returns a string containing a long list of plant family names, wrapped in HTML links. Hi guy, I have two database server used the Replication + MHA + MaxScale . When the master(mdb1) went down ,I had select "show slave status" on slave(mdb2) , the slave database show "No query specified". So I can sure the slave database was be a master database. I had used maxscale commad "list servers" to show servers status : that show the mdb1 was down and mdb2 was runnung . But I can't connect to mysql via Maxscale, I got an error message : failed to create new session . How to use the Maxscale in two server replication ? The minimum database server node of MaxScale are 3 servers ?

Standard SQL has triggers FOR EACH STATEMENT, but MariaDB has not. I would use a stored procedure instead. Hello, Is this script supposed to be runnable as a normal (i.e., non-root) user? In MySQL 5.6 there is logic that prevents the chown() of the mysql data dir when running as non-root. MariaDB 10.1.8 doesn’t seem to have this logic, so the script fails when chown() fails. Is this change intended? We have tests that verify functionality of user-created, UNIX-socket-only MySQL/MariaDB servers. These work on MySQL 5.6 but not on MariaDB 10.1. Here is the command-line output: --------------- ~/temp $ /usr/bin/mysql_install_db --datadir=mysqldata chown: changing ownership of `mysqldata': Operation not permitted Cannot change ownership of the database directories to the 'mysql' user.
