To focus back on the original question, would it be interesting to define dynamically the buffer pool size on a similar fashion as the Windows installed does when installing MariaDB using packages on Debian/Ubuntu (or other applicable distros that shows dialog when installing packages from an interactive shell) as it already show a dialog for the root password?
