Hi Otto! MariaDB 11.8.2 LTS was added to the Sisyphus development repository on June 10th (https://packages.altlinux.org/en/sisyphus/srpms/mariadb /) and according to reviews, the transition from 11.4 did not cause any problems. ----- Исходное сообщение -----

Hi Alexei,
I hope you've had a chance to subscribe to the MariaDB packagers mailing list since I recommended it last month: https://lists.mariadb.org/hyperkitty/list/packagers@lists.mariadb.org/
It's a great place to stay updated... and speaking of updates:
MariaDB 11.8.2 LTS is now available! You can find the release announcement here: https://mariadb.org/11-8-lts-released/
As the new long-term supported version, I encourage you to import it into your distro if you haven't already. I uploaded 11.8.2 to Debian almost two weeks ago and haven't encountered any regressions so far.
Given that Debian's MariaDB packaging involves extensive metadata and builds across 16 different CPU architectures, we've ironed out many common build and test issues. If you're just starting on 11.8 and run into any problems, our work might save you time.
You can find our packaging and patches at https://salsa.debian.org/mariadb-team/mariadb-server
Our repository also includes other useful packaging files, such as:
- mariadb-server.NEWS: This file lists every system variable that has been added, removed, deprecated, or had its default value changed. You can track this information for each minor release by checking the Git history of debian/tests/traces within the directory: https://salsa.debian.org/mariadb-team/mariadb-server/-/tree/debian/latest/de...
- mariadb-server.README.Debian: This document summarizes best practices for managing users and permissions. https://salsa.debian.org/mariadb-team/mariadb-server/-/blob/debian/latest/de...
I look forward to continuing these discussions on the packagers@lists.mariadb.org mailing list!
Best,
Otto
P.S. If you haven't already, please help MariaDB reach 10k stars by giving us a star on GitHub: https://github.com/mariadb/server/ :)
