Changing the subject and cc'ing the maria-docs list because this is a docs topic. We already have the ability to add a blurb or comment to individual files in the downloads system, but I want to reserve this ability for times when there's something out of the ordinary about a file that we need to make sure to point out. If we always have comments on each file in the download system, people might miss it when we have something important to say about a particular file. So instead of doing that, I'd like to add a new "Installation Instructions" or a similarly named column to the download list. I'll work with Bryan to get it added. We have instructions in the KB for most of the various file types. Here are the links to existing installation instructions: http://kb.askmonty.org/v/installing-mariadb-binary-tarballs http://kb.askmonty.org/v/installing-mariadb-deb-files http://kb.askmonty.org/v/installing-mariadb-msi-packages-on-windows http://kb.askmonty.org/v/compiling-mariadb-from-source Missing on the above list are instructions for installing RPMs and the Windows .zip packages. Any volunteers to write up some installation instructions for these? Thanks. -- Daniel Bartholomew MariaDB - http://mariadb.org Monty Program - http://montyprogram.com AskMonty Knowledgebase - http://kb.askmonty.org
