[Maria-discuss] New Question: How to cleanly uninstall MariaDB
Hello, A new question has been asked in "MariaDB Documentation" by yaroslav_nikitenko_g. Please answer it at http://mariadb.com/kb/en/how-to-cleanly-uninstall-mariadb/ as the person asking the question may not be subscribed to the mailing list. -------------------------------- I've been using MariaDB on my server. It seemed to be hacked. I couldn't restart mariadb, and I deleted it with package manager yum. However, after reinstalling that I still experienced some problems (they didn't disappear). There is an opinion http://superuser.com/a/778269/387511 that some files such as databases are not removed during MariaDB uninstall. Is it true, and what should I take care of when uninstalling MariaDB? Thank you. I've used site search but couldn't find an answer in the official documentation. I suggest adding this to the part about installation of MariaDB. -------------------------------- To view or answer this question please visit: http://mariadb.com/kb/en/how-to-cleanly-uninstall-mariadb/

uninstall *never ever* removes runtime data for no application, not only mysql / mariadb the package manager *must not* touch /var/lib/ at uninstall or update
Again, you must go to web site to answer these questions. The user has no idea the email is cc'ed here! Sent from my iPhone
