Anyone with any experience with Hibernate and Spring want to jump in and comment on (or answer) this question? If not I will just answer with the standard "If it works with MySQL it will work with MariaDB...."

I tested this back sometime last year with MariaDB 5.1, and it was exactly the same as MySQL. I should have documented it, but it was at an event and was rather spontaneous
