A new question has been posted to the Knowledgebase: http://kb.askmonty.org/en/stopstart-mariadb --------------------------------------------------------------------- When upgrading MariaDb, using DEB package manager,it always fails to stop the server and the upgrade fails. Also the server cannot be stopped from MySQl Workbench. However, I can stop ok from the terminal with the command 'sudo service mysql stop' and then run the update which restarts the server automatically. Not fatal but puzzling.
