I thought it was autumn 2018, you menat, but maybe it was 2022? :-)

Now that MySQL 8 is officially GA and use a default colation not available in MariaDB, I think it should be prioritized.

We should eventually do it. But it's not a high priority for now.
It's very unlikely that we'll have time to do it before autumn.
