askmonty.org states that "MariaDB is a community developed branch of the MySQL database that uses the Maria engine by default". I guess not yet. ...beats me. :-) Yes, you are right. Maria is not default engine. It is used as default only in temporary tables where MyISAM was used. We will fix this description, thank you for bugreport! :)
