Colin, All, Any benchmarks of maria-10.0.1 or of a built over the carrent 10.0/10.0-base trees do not make any sense, because these trees are based on innodb from mysql 5.6.5, not on innodb from mysql 5.6.10. It's a well known fact that innodb of mysql-5.6.10 is much faster than innodb of mysql 5.6.5. Regards, Igor. On 04/03/2013 06:24 AM, Colin Charles wrote:
Hi!
Mark Callaghan asks this on Facebook: While testing single-threaded performance to compare MySQL 5.1 with 5.6 I think there is much more overhead in the optimizer in 5.6. Do you have benchmark results for a single-threaded workload with fast queries (like SELECT one row by PK from a cached table)? I am curious whether new versions of MariaDB have a similar increase in optimizer overhead.

Might make a great post at our blog
