Well you can wait forever for a parser that is pluggable, or you can have rewrite plugins that are so much more awesome than Oracle's rewrite plugin. It is effectively putting the power of MySQL proxy into the database. The SQL92 parser can do all the things needed under the covers. Fancy things like CTE and window functions become available.
