Binaries have been uploaded for both x86 and amd64 platforms. due to github file size limitations , the directories have been uploaded unarchived. for Win33 binaries , please checkout https://github.com/YannNayn/galera-mariadb-win32.git and for Win64(amd64) binaries (being uploaded/pushed): https://github.com/YannNayn/galera-mariadb-win64.git they are not recommended for a production environment. in the my.cnf file: _________ wsrep_provider=galera_smm.dll wsrep_sst_method=msqldump # percona xtrabackup will be tested soon _________ libevent and openssl(the provided binaries use respectively 2.1.3-alpha and 1.1.0-dev versions ) will be added next on github some limitations are stated on openssl website copied here for convenience: ____________ from http://www.openssl.org/ ____________ This software package uses strong cryptography, so even if it is created, maintained and distributed from liberal countries in Europe (where it is legal to do this), it falls under certain export/import and/or use restrictions in some other parts of the world. Hello, The Debian repos @ https://mariadb.org/download/?t=repo-config don't seem to contain any packages and no Release file anymore. Last updated yesterday at 18:41 (IDK which timezone). E.g. http://ams2.mirrors.digitalocean.com/mariadb/repo/10.3/debian/dists/buster/… (the issue isn't with this specific mirror). When choosing a repo on mariadb.org, the error "An error occured. The mirrors could not be loaded." is shown. -- With kind regards, William Edwards

[Maria-discuss] Weird behavior in Fedora 34 server

Hi, I am installing MariaDB in Fedora 34 server with the following sequence of commands: sudo dnf upgrade -y sudo dnf install -y mariadb-server mariadb-devel sudo dnf -y install git vim With this sequence of commands, I get the following installed: $ mysql --version mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.5.13-MariaDB, for Linux (x86_64) using EditLine wrapper and I can successfully perform the initial setup of the root password: sudo mysqladmin -u root password password and continue with the rest of my installation. However, if I change the sequence of commands to: sudo dnf upgrade -y sudo dnf -y install git vim sudo dnf install -y mariadb-server mariadb-devel What I get installed instead is: $ mysql --version mysql Ver 8.0.27 for Linux on x86_64 (Source distribution) and the 'sudo mysqladmin -u root password password' command fails with: mysqladmin: unable to change password; error: 'You have an error in your SQL syntax; check the manual that corresponds to your MariaDB server version for the right syntax to use near '() IDENTIFIED BY 'secretdatabase'' at line 1' Could anyone shed some light on this? [Maria-discuss] Incremental backup with mariabackup and run-mariabackup

Hi, I'm using mariadb-10.5.13 on fedora34 with run-mariabackup from https://github.com/omegazeng/run-mariabackup. Has anyone used this backup script or have any recommendations for ones that help to automate the process of using mariabackup for backups? This script appears to create an infinite amount of incremental backups once the original full backup is created. I believe this makes it necessary to restore each of the incrementals on top of the base. If the backups are stored off-site, this creates magnitudes more data that's needed to restore, and increases the time to restore it. It also only appears possible to backup the entire system, not just individual databases. Do you have any recommendations for other scripts that ease the process of making and restoring backups?
