Aug 6 12:24:24 testserver mysqld: 150806 12:24:24 [Note] /usr/libexec/mysqld (mysqld 10.0.20-MariaDB) starting as process 115096 ... why is this now stdout instead mysql logs? on systemd based distributions that spits now to the global syslog and finally on machines restarting 2 instances every hour for backup reasons it annoys until 10.0.19 or 10.0.20 that was not this way

Visiting: https://mariadb.com/kb/en/mariadb/branding-guidelines/ You’ll note that the Powered by MariaDB badges still exist (https://mariadb.org/about/logos/) — they should really say Powered by MariaDB Server But what is missing are all the seal logos? Currently beyond the archives at Wikimedia Commons (https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Mariadb-seal-browntext.svg) they seem to have disappeared Is this just an oversight and something that needs fixing? Hello everybody, I made a (form my POV) bigger change to how MariaDB is packed, and I would be grateful for any feedback. I separated all the non-essential utilities to a standalone sub-package "server-utils". It should be installed automaticly with the "server" package as a weak dendency, so regular user should not spot any change. For example, if you don't need Perl with your server, you can save about 20MB of the space with this update. [Maria-discuss] question about generating logs on MariaDB 10.1.21

Hello, I have just moved from a MySQL 5.6 server on CentOS 6.8 to a MariaDB 10.1.21 server on CentOS 7. It is installed and working. I would like to set up some logging, but it has not gone as expected. I have binary logging working. However, I can't generate general logs or error logs. Here is part of the /etc/my.cnf file: user=mysql port = 3306 socket = /var/lib/mysql/mysql.sock datadir = /mnt/mysqldbs log_error = /var/log/mysql/error.log general_log_file = /var/log/mysql/mysql.log general_log = 1 log_bin = /mnt/mysqldbs/logs/mysql-bin I assume that after a restart, the logs will be generated, then logged to as events happen. As it is, no log files are generated. Many thanks.
