Binaries have been uploaded for both x86 and amd64 platforms. due to github file size limitations , the directories have been uploaded unarchived. for Win33 binaries , please checkout https://github.com/YannNayn/galera-mariadb-win32.git and for Win64(amd64) binaries (being uploaded/pushed): https://github.com/YannNayn/galera-mariadb-win64.git they are not recommended for a production environment. in the my.cnf file: _________ wsrep_provider=galera_smm.dll wsrep_sst_method=msqldump # percona xtrabackup will be tested soon _________ libevent and openssl(the provided binaries use respectively 2.1.3-alpha and 1.1.0-dev versions ) will be added next on github some limitations are stated on openssl website copied here for convenience: ____________ from http://www.openssl.org/ ____________ This software package uses strong cryptography, so even if it is created, maintained and distributed from liberal countries in Europe (where it is legal to do this), it falls under certain export/import and/or use restrictions in some other parts of the world. Hi all, I would like to know the most affecting InnoDB pain points the customers/potential customers first refer. By pain point, I mean anything that causes concerns, restricts sales etc, pain point can be bug, missing feature, usage problem, performance etc. My goal on asking this question is to find out what are the real issues customers or potential customer are struggling or issues that block customers using MariaDB. After that I will see what I can do about the situation and plan forward to address the raised issues with proper priorities. [Maria-discuss] Implementing APPROXIMATE_COUNT(*)

Hi, I have realised that whenever I am doing any query and want to count number of rows:SELECT COUNT(*) FROM atable WHERE <complicated condition>; On large tables (>10e6 rows), when the count is >100e3, it takes over a second... even when all the indexes are set up, etc... and with large counts, I have not been able to go below ~<1 s. So I would like to implement APPROXIMATE_COUNT(*) function, which checks, if, for example every 10th, 100th or 1000th row is present in my final output... and based on this statistics, return the approximate number of rows that given query produces. I am using MyISAM engine and would like to do the implementation on it, where the total number of rows is automatically stored. Obviously, it would be useful for anybody dealing with these huge aggregate websites, where users do not really need to know if their keyword search returned 1234567890 results or just 1.2e9 results... Please, can you advise me how to start this project? I.e. whether it's easy to do in SQL or whether I would have to start looking somewhere in the source code of MariaDB? I have plenty of time, programming/SQL experience, but no experience with maria/mysql source code. Tomek

Hi, I'm trying to parse GPX files, which are XML with the connect engine. They look like this: <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <gpx version="1.1" creator="runtastic - makes sports funtastic, http://www.runtastic.com"> <trk> <trkseg> <trkpt lon="-0.7057708501815800" lat="51.4470825195312003"> <ele>76.6089172363281</ele> <time>2013-08-12T18:17:25.000Z</time> </trkpt> <trkpt lon="-0.7059442996978760" lat="51.4470443725586009"> <ele>72.1513061523437</ele> <time>2013-08-12T18:17:28.000Z</time> </trkpt> <trkpt lon="-0.7059520483016970" lat="51.4470558166503977"> <ele>75.0039749145508</ele> <time>2013-08-12T18:17:30.000Z</time> </trkpt> </trkseg> </trk> </gpx> Once I have the Connect -engine enabled I do the following: create table GPXSource ( lat char(20) field_format='@', lon char(20) field_format='@') engine=CONNECT table_type=XML file_name='/home/rasmus/nodegpxmariadb/public/uploads/runtastic_20130812_2157_Running.gpx' tabname='gpx/trk/trkseg' option_list='rownode=trkpt'; It doesn't work, I cannot figure out how to tell the Connect engine that the data I'm interested is beneath the gpx/trk/trkseg -node (tabname). If I remove the trk and trkseg -nodes from the data and just have the gpx -node left and all trkpt -nodes inside it everything works perfectly. Any help is appriciated. Recently we migrate to mariadb and every version upgrade failed (last failed from 10.0.6 to 10.0.7).
