Hello Mark!
In summary, the feature is ready. It has been reviewed by Monty, and tested by Elena via the random query generator. All known bugs have been fixed. Thank you.
- The implementation still allows the query engine to have what I call "momentum". In various cases it is possible that the query engine examines even an order of magnitude more rows than the give row limit.
This is OK for us. We won't be using it in those cases.
Given that we cannot push this feature into 5.3 (it is GA), an important question is whether I should continue maintaining the 5.3 version of the feature in addition to the released version in 5.5.
You don't need to maintain the 5.3 version. -- Mark Callaghan mdcallag@gmail.com
