I've also created another page, https://mariadb.com/kb/en/mariadb-quality-development-rules/
Ok, thanks for the other link.
https://mariadb.com/kb/en/mariadb-release-model/ would you like to take a look and see if it answers your questions?
One detail I noticed in this page (documenting the release model for users) is the mention of "RC" and "GA" releases, which can maybe be clarified. As I understand it, 11.3.0 was released in September as a "preview" release. And in November, 11.3.1 will be released as an "RC" release. Then in February, May, August, ... there will be patch releases 11.3.2, 11.3.3, 11.3.4, ... of the 11.3 series, until a total of 5 scheduled GA patch versions of 11.3 have been released ("An innovation release is maintained for one year after the first GA release"). It is not clear from the page if the first GA release will necessarily be 11.3.2 in February (following a "time-based release model" for GA), or if 11.3.2 can be either an "RC" or a "GA" release depending on some criterias of quality of the release. From checking the release history of the last few release series, it looks like the first scheduled patch version after RC is always a GA release. If so, this could be clarified, for example: "Every scheduled patch version after the first RC release is a GA release" Hope this helps, - Kristian.
