MDEV-4742 - provide function to sort string in "natural" order
The numbers should be compared as numbers, while the rest should be compared as string.
Introduce natural_sort_key() function that transforms original string so that the lexicographic order of such keys is suitable for natural sort.
This comment doesn't mention the second optional argument. Neither does Jira.

I don't really like this idea. First, see https://natsort.readthedocs.io/en/master/index.html there are many ways one can potentially want to customize natsort. (of course, none of them have to be in this MDEV) One of those customizations, indeed, is treating floating point numbers as floating point numbers. But comma vs dot is locale thing, and a one string argument it's not how you should tell the function what decimal separator the current locale uses. So. Simple approach - remove the second argument, no floating point support. Complex approach - have a second argument that enables floating point support, but that can be used in the future to specify more customizations, not that is hard-wired to specify decimal separator duplicating and bypassing the locale.
